FROM CATHOLIC CHARITIES OF DALLAS
As you may have heard, the country of Ecuador suffered a devastating 7.8 earthquake on Saturday, April 16th. We have received a request from the Latin Diversity Network of American Airlines to assist them in collecting donations of first aid items, toiletries, blankets and baby items such as diapers, wipes, baby bottles and baby food. American Airlines plans to send a plane to Ecuador on April 29th to deliver these items to those in need. Catholic Charities of Dallas ‘s Marillac Center, located at 2827 Lapsley Street, Dallas, TX 75212 will serve as a collection center starting Monday, April 25th through Thursday, April 28th. We will be accepting items during our business hours 9:00 am – 5:00pm. On Thursday, April 28th at noon, volunteers from the Latin Diversity Network will be picking up the items and transporting them to the airport.
We know this is a last minute request, but with so many in need, we are asking if you would announce this effort at your parishes this weekend. If you should need additional information, please call us at 469-801-8133.
I want to thank you
We hope you enjoy the book given at Easter, "A Biblical Walk through the Mass." Consider joining us for a 5 week series starting Wednesday, May 25 that will dive into this book with video, discussion and more. Nursery care is available
Based on the revised translation of the Mass, this five-part program takes participants on an exciting tour of the Liturgy as it explores the biblical roots of the words and gestures we experience at Mass and explains their profound significance. See, perhaps for the first time, why we say what we say and do what we do every week at Mass. The words and gestures will be seen in a new light, giving new life to the liturgical experience.
