by Don HolecGraduating Seniors,
We are excited to introduce you to the 2010 St. Gabriel Men’s Club Scholarship Award. This is an annual scholarship given to a college-bound senior who has shown significant participation and growth in the mission of the church and youth ministry. It is about the development of becoming a servant disciple of Christ. The money will hopefully alleviate some financial burden so that you have a better opportunity to continue your disciple growth in college.
The youth ministry’s vision, “Get it, Live it, Pass it”, describes the circular progression of discipleship. This scholarship is awarded to a teen that has shown significant advancement in this mission. Qualification areas include growth in six components of discipleship: Community Participation, Getting an Understanding of Faith, Worship Participation, Growing Deeper in Faith, Serving Others, and Ministry Leadership. The components of Serving Others and Ministry leadership are key progression components; however, a disciple of Jesus cannot serve with out Worship or drawing strength from Community Participation or Growing in Faith. Therefore, you must also show growth in all areas.
Use the links on the right side of this page to obtain an application form. The application is a Word document which you can download from the web site. Be sure to read the instructions for more details on both completing the application and obtaining reference letters. Please contact Don Holec at (469) 247-1461 with any questions. Please note the deadline is April 1st.
The St. Gabriel Youth Ministry and Men’s Club are proud to offer this recognition scholarship and proud of our graduating seniors.
Sincerely Your Servants,
