Purpose: To bring Jesus in the Eucharist to those who are unable to attend Mass due to illness or disability.
GROW: Be Missionary
We bring Holy Communion to those who are unable to attend Mass due to illness or disability. This team of Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion visits parishioners, who are homebound or in the hospital as well as those in assisted living communities and nursing homes. Training is provided. Safe Environment clearance is required. Join us in this rewarding ministry.
Parish members in the hospital or homebound who wish to receive Holy Communion may contact the parish in two ways:
a) Online: Request Holy Communion on the Care Request Form.
b) Call: Request through the Pastoral Assistant at (972) 540-7170 ext 232.
Time Commitment:
Extraordinary Ministers of Communion to the Sick are scheduled by their team coordinator to serve once a month. An annual gathering of Ministers of Communion to the Sick is conducted to review new procedures, to be refreshed in their dedication, and to share in the fellowship of this ministry
Skills / Training:
